Facing $1.3M daily fine for refusing to cover ‘abortion-inducing drugs’

HobbyLobby-340x185Hobby Lobby is one of my favorite businesses that I have supported with my business when working in the mid-west. The fact that I like them, or appreciate the owners who are Christian is beside the point. The point is, the heavy handed treatment of the Obama administration against Christian institutions that are being forced to make a choice between supporting birth control for their employees, or shred their convictions of faith. People of no faith have absolutely no problem with this, yet people of faith see this as an absolute assault on religious liberty and a direct attack on the first amendment.

Grace-Marie Turner, president of the Galen Institute: “The Obama administration’s assault on religious liberty is taking root … Failure to comply with the mandate will result in penalties that could cost business millions of dollars. The administration clearly did not reach a much-vaunted ‘accommodation’ with business owners who strongly oppose the mandate and believe it is a clear violation of their constitutional protection of religious liberty. The HHS mandate forces business owners to choose between following their religious beliefs or obedience to the federal government. The Obama administration clearly believes the government is supreme and that individuals and businesses must bow to its dictates or suffer severe consequences. We know that Obamacare is wrong for America. The HHS anti-conscience mandate is clear evidence of why the law violates the most fundamental principles upon which our country is founded.”

A Little History On Gun Control

Often people wonder why our founding fathers wrote the second amendment and why people who appear to be very ordinary appear to go  ballistic when there is even a hint that the government begins to move in the direction in the control of arms among her citizens. One needs to only look at history and see the tragic results when nation after nation were disarmed. For your own edification, read the following!

  • In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated
  • In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
  • Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
  • China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated
  • Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
  • Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
  • Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note, before it’s too late! The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are ‘citizens’. Without them, we are ‘subjects’.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED! If you value your freedom, please spread this antigun-control message to all of your friends.

Spread the word everywhere you can that you are a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment! It’s time to speak loud before they try to silence and disarm us. You’re not imagining it, history shows that governments always manipulate tragedies to attempt to disarm the people.

Editorial note: We have over 2000 laws on the books. You would think just one of these might have stopped the Newtown tragedy if laws were the answer. In this post I am not arguing for assault rifles and military equipment. Clearly these should not be in the hands of the general population, however I am seeking to make the point that the government ought not to hop on the gun issue every time there is an incident that involves guns. We don’t take cars from people because there is a tiny group of nuts that cause the death of thousands for a variety of reasons. When we determine the reason, and if a person is found guilty of using a vehicle out side the law we take that person’s license. We don’t pass laws to impound all autos in the nations.

If you are interested in the facts, read Ann Coulter’s in the next post. She reports what you will never read in the so called main stream press. She provides several examples of potentially hundreds of lives saved because there were people with guns who were able to take out the shooters before they could do the kind of damage we saw in Newtown.

Do we know how to stop school shootings?

The following article was posted by Ann Coulter in WND on 12/1912.

In the wake of a monstrous crime like a madman’s mass murder of defenseless women and children at the Newtown, Conn., elementary school, the nation’s attention is riveted on what could have been done to prevent such a massacre.

Luckily, some years ago, two famed economists, William Landes at the University of Chicago and John Lott at Yale, conducted a massive study of multiple-victim public shootings in the United States between 1977 and 1995 to see how various legal changes affected their frequency and death toll.

Landes and Lott examined many of the very policies being proposed right now in response to the Connecticut massacre: waiting periods and background checks for guns, the death penalty and increased penalties for committing a crime with a gun.

None of these policies had any effect on the frequency of, or carnage from, multiple-victim shootings. (I note that they did not look at reforming our lax mental health laws, presumably because the ACLU is working to keep dangerous nuts on the street in all 50 states.)

Only one public policy has ever been shown to reduce the death rate from such crimes: concealed-carry laws.

The effect of concealed-carry laws in deterring mass public shootings was even greater than the impact of such laws on the murder rate generally.

Someone planning to commit a single murder in a concealed-carry state only has to weigh the odds of one person being armed. But a criminal planning to commit murder in a public place has to worry that anyone in the entire area might have a gun.

You will notice that most multiple-victim shootings occur in “gun-free zones” – even within states that have concealed-carry laws: public schools, churches, Sikh temples, post offices, the movie theater where James Holmes committed mass murder, and the Portland, Ore., mall where a nut starting gunning down shoppers a few weeks ago.

Guns were banned in all these places. Mass killers may be crazy, but they’re not stupid.

If the deterrent effect of concealed-carry laws seems surprising to you, that’s because the media hide stories of armed citizens stopping mass shooters. At the Portland shooting, for example, no explanation was given for the amazing fact that the assailant managed to kill only two people in the mall during the busy Christmas season.

It turns out, concealed-carry-holder Nick Meli hadn’t noticed that the mall was a gun-free zone. He pointed his (otherwise legal) gun at the shooter as he paused to reload, and the next shot was the attempted mass murderer killing himself. (Meli aimed, but didn’t shoot, because there were bystanders behind the shooter.)

In a nonsense “study” going around the Internet right now, Mother Jones magazine claims to have produced its own study of all public shootings in the last 30 years and concludes: “In not a single case was the killing stopped by a civilian using a gun.”

This will come as a shock to people who know something about the subject.

The magazine reaches its conclusion by simply excluding all cases where an armed civilian stopped the shooter: They looked only at public shootings where four or more people were killed, i.e., the ones where the shooter wasn’t stopped.

If we care about reducing the number of people killed in mass shootings, shouldn’t we pay particular attention to the cases where the aspiring mass murderer was prevented from getting off more than a couple rounds?

It would be like testing the effectiveness of weed killers, but refusing to consider any cases where the weeds died.

In addition to the Portland mall case, here are a few more examples excluded by the Mother Jones methodology:

  • Mayan Palace Theater, San Antonio, Texas, this week: Jesus Manuel Garcia shoots at a movie theater, a police car and bystanders from the nearby China Garden restaurant; as he enters the movie theater, guns blazing, an armed off-duty cop shoots Garcia four times, stopping the attack. Total dead: Zero.
  • Winnemucca, Nev., 2008: Ernesto Villagomez opens fire in a crowded restaurant; concealed-carry permit-holder shoots him dead. Total dead: Two. (I’m excluding the shooters’ deaths in these examples.)
  • Appalachian School of Law, 2002: Crazed immigrant shoots the dean and a professor, then begins shooting students; as he goes for more ammunition, two armed students point their guns at him, allowing a third to tackle him. Total dead: Three.
  • Santee, Calif., 2001: Student begins shooting his classmates – as well as the “trained campus supervisor”; an off-duty cop who happened to be bringing his daughter to school that day points his gun at the shooter, holding him until more police arrive. Total dead: Two.
  • Pearl High School, Mississippi, 1997: After shooting several people at his high school, student heads for the junior high school; assistant principal Joel Myrick retrieves a .45 pistol from his car and points it at the gunman’s head, ending the murder spree. Total dead: Two.
  • Edinboro, Pa., 1998: A student shoots up a junior high school dance being held at a restaurant; restaurant owner pulls out his shotgun and stops the gunman. Total dead: One.

By contrast, the shootings in gun-free zones invariably result in far higher casualty figures – Sikh temple, Oak Creek, Wis. (six dead); Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va. (32 dead); Columbine High School, Columbine, Colo. (12 dead); Amish school, Lancaster County, Pa. (five little girls killed); public school, Craighead County, Ark. (five killed, including four little girls).

All these took place in gun-free zones, resulting in lots of people getting killed – and thereby warranting inclusion in the Mother Jones study.

If what we care about is saving the lives of innocent human beings by reducing the number of mass public shootings and the deaths they cause, only one policy has ever been shown to work: concealed-carry laws. On the other hand, if what we care about is self-indulgent grandstanding, and to hell with dozens of innocent children being murdered in cold blood, try the other policies.

Editorial Note: Don’t be misled by the propaganda of people within our own nation and current administration who have their own agenda when it comes to our people and guns.

A Father Who Has the Right to Speak About Guns

Twelve years after another unforgettable school shooting, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School tragedy in Littleton, Colorado, spoke before the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee. Clearly our national leaders were not expecting or prepared for Darrell Scott and what he had to say. What he shared that day was painfully truthful.

Not only were they not prepared for what he said, they did not receive it well and frankly were considerably hostile. Scott’s address needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness.. The following is a portion of the transcript:

“Since the dawn of creation there has been both good and evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.

“The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain’s heart.

“In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA – because I don’t believe that they are responsible for my daughter’s death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel’s murder I would be their strongest opponent

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy — it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You’ve stripped away our heritage,
You’ve outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question “Why?”
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

“Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation’s history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine’s tragedy occurs — politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our hearts.

“As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA — I give to you a sincere challenge.. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter’s death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!” – Darrell Scott

Editorial Note: Is Darrell Scott right? It would seem not when the Newtown massacre is so fresh in memory. These crimes against humanity will not be stopped by more gun laws, less guns, better law enforcement, education, or even the most sophisticated psychological testing. The answer will be found only when our nation realizes it can longer entertain the loud voices of the few, and recognize God for who he is and do what He has instructed us to do. The insightful instructions of God has been there for thousands of years for America and every nation that has gone before, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

When we banish God from every segment of our culture and society, how can we possible expect that God will bless America as every politician evokes at the end of speeches? Read the verse above for the answer!

A Navy Seal’s Love for Christ

On the Today Show, Matt Lauer interviewed the wife of one of the Navy Seals killed in Bengazi. He asked her what she would say to her children about their dad and how she would want them to remember him. She said, and I quote, “His love for Christ,” and then continued with a few other things. Throughout the day and on MSN homepage, when the story was replayed they edited the “His love for Christ” part out. Why? Because using the word Christ might offend someone.

Well, I am a Christian and I am offended! Offended that they would edit it out. Offended that Christians are asked to tread lightly so as not to offend someone of another religion. Are Christians offended when someone of another faith embraces that faith by declaring they love a significant person or prophet of that faith? This nonsense that Christians are offending people of other faiths simply by breathing. This nonsense has matured to the point of being ridiculous

I think anyone who missed the original broadcast last week should know what NBC has done. This man loved his country and loved his God and gave his life for both, just as Christ gave His life for him. I am not ashamed of God but I am becoming outraged and ashamed of the directions in which my country is moving. It is time to take a stand.

Canadian Parliament hears about the SERIOUS American crisis

Forget the “fiscal cliff”. You want to understand how dire is America’s financial crisis? Pierre Poilieve speaking before the Canadian Parliament, uses the U.S. and the E.U as examples of what Canada should NOT do.

What he says will chill you to the bone. It doesn’t really matter what is done about our financial situation short term. If we didn’t know, it is becoming very clear that our politicians in Washington don’t have the political or moral courage to do what is necessary.

Poilieve’s revelation that America will soon support China’s entire military budget is unthinkable. Obama, his administration and our current congress are not the only ones responsible for this nation destroying mess, however they have not shown the will or ability to lead our nation through this mine field.

Pierre Poilieve’s address before the Canadian Parliament is a must if you want to be an informed U.S. citizen. Click the graphic below!

Time for America to say, “Enough is Enough!”

ChristmasTree1-280x275The bureaucrats in this town have stolen Christmas from poor people, cancer victims and a charitable man overflowing with gratitude. Bah, humbug! was once a phrase in a fictional story. It is now reality in many communities across America. On Dec. 22, the following was posted on WND

A Christmas tree farmer who wanted to hand out Christmas trees to low-income families and accept donations for a cancer fund has been ordered by the city of Waynesboro, Va., to close down his initiative.

A report today from the Rutherford Institute said its attorneys are jumping into action to help Christian Critzer, who began a Christmas tree donation drive to raise money for the Martha Jefferson Hospital Cancer Center Foundation in nearby Charlottesville, Va.

It would provide custom wigs for people fighting cancer and the effects of chemo and radiation treatments.

But the city ordered him to halt.

His “retail activity,” city officials concluded, has no place in an area zoned for homes.

He agreed to the order to prevent the city from bringing a legal action against the owner of his rental home.

Visit the online store where ‘Merry Christmas’ still prevails and there are answers for your every need.

“This year has certainly been plagued with its fair share of Scrooges and Grinches disguised as government agents, threatening individuals with fines and arrest for such simple acts of kindness and charity as distributing free bottled water to the thirsty, giving away free food to the hungry and destitute, and making thermal shelters available to house the homeless during cold winter nights,” said John W. Whitehead, president of the Rutherford Institute.

“It’s our hope that Waynesboro officials will focus on solving the many real and pressing problems plaguing their community rather than creating problems where there are none.”

It was on Nov. 26 when a zoning official showed up on Critzer’s doorstep to tell him he couldn’t run a retail business in the home.

Critzer explained the intention of his tree drive and that it was not a retail activity but a charity for a local hospital.

No matter. Here’s your citation for running a retail activity in a residential area, the city official said.

Rutherford says it’s contacting the city to try to get what it describes as an “erroneous” interpretation of the zoning code fixed.

“And That’s the Way It Is,” December 14, 2012

Twas’ 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven’s gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy, they didn’t know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
“Where are we?” asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“This is heaven.” declared a small boy.
“We’re spending Christmas at God’s house.”
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their Savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
And in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring.
Those children all flew into the arms of their King.
And as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus’ face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, “I’ll take care of mom and dad.”
Then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.
Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!”
“May this country be delivered from the hands of fools”
“I’m taking back my nation. I’m taking back my schools!”
Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
“Come now my children, let me show you around.”
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran,
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“In the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT.”
