Palestinian Authority Admits Israeli Sanctions Are Cutting Deep?

By Gavriel Queenann (Arutz Sheva News)

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad admitted that Israel’s decision to freeze tax revenue transfers to the PA were cutting deep.

Fayyad told reporters Sunday that the sanctions have a “devastating impact” on the economy in PA-run enclaves.

Israel froze the transfer of tax revenues – amounting to roughly $100 million per month – after the PA launched a series of unilateral moves at the United Nations aimed at attaining recognition of a state based on pre-1967 lines at the world body.

Officials in Jerusalem said the moves, which began with a now-moribund application for statehood at the UN Security Council and culminated in UNESCO voting to induct the PA as a ‘member state,’ were a direct violation of the bilateral Oslo Accords.

All contacts and cooperation with the PA – including the transfer of tax revenues – occur under the auspices of bilateral agreements that proscribe unilateral moves like those the PA is pursuing, Israeli officials note.

PA officials were forced to suspend their unilateral track after UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon withdrew his support for their statehood bid at the world body in the face of promised funding cuts to UN agencies by the United States.  The United States underwrites 22 percent of the UN operating budget and 27 percent of its peace keeping operations

Senior economic officials in Ramallah have long said Israel’s transfers of tax revenues along with foreign aid are crucial to keeping Fayyad‘s the cash-strapped administration afloat.  Israel’s funds freeze to Ramallah coincides with a downturn in foreign donations to the PA – especially from Arab countries coping with the Arab spring.

Last week Fayyad told reporters if Israel did not resume the transfer of tax funds the PA would have to close its doors.

Israeli officials, however, say they are unmoved and that funds will not begin flowing to Ramallah again until PA officials accept a proposal by the Quartet for Middle East Peace for resumed talks without preconditions.

Israeli officials have accepted the Quartet proposal, which calls for a final status agreement by the end of 2012.

Previously, officials in the office of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said, while the PA shutting down would be “unfortunate” it “would not be the end of the world.”

Palestinian Authority Mourns Support for Jewish Israel as the “Cursed Promise”

By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu (Arutz Sheva News)

The Palestinian Authority continues to speak in two languages.  PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas officially says he recognizes Israel but officials mourn the Balfour Declaration of November 2, 1917, in which Britain expressed Britain’s support for “the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.”

In its annual condemnation of the Balfour statement, high school girls in Tulkarm located several miles east of Netanya, wrote “letters of sorrow and pain” to Queen Elizabeth, Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) reported.

“The real reasons that caused Balfour to give his dark promise, first and foremost [the desire] to be rid of the Jews in Europe and to award them a prize for the genocidal weapons which they had invented, which helped Britain to annihilate more people,” one girl wrote in a letter that appeared in PA media and was translated by PMW.

Another girl wrote to the Queen “that she and her contemporaries are still paying the price of the Balfour promise in blood and tears, because he [Balfour] ‘decided to donate a country which was not his to a nation [the Jews] which was not entitled to it, with no justification, since the Palestinian people had not attacked Britain or dreamed of invading London.’”

Fatah member Faiz Abu Aitah told the official Palestinian Authority’s daily newspaper that the Balfour Declaration was “the greatest crime that the international community is responsible for.”

In its continuing attempt to rewrite history, PA television reported, “Today is the 94th anniversary of the cursed Balfour promise, in which those who had no ownership (Britain) permitted those who had no right (the Jews) to establish a national homeland for the Jews in Palestine.”

A PA reported chimed in on cue, “They [the Jews] took the place of the original inhabitants, conquered their land, and turned them into refugees throughout the world.  A promise that brings a mark of shame upon humanity because it [humanity] ignored the colonialist frenzy – not only in Palestine but in the Arab homeland, from east to west…

“The promise is not necessarily the right of humans, in contrast to Allah [who has the right] to promise this land, which did and still does belong in its entirety to its Palestinian owners.  Balfour will continue to turn in his grave because of the historical injustice which Britain committed against the Palestinian people.”

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported, “The promise declared by British Foreign Minister Arthur Balfour, on Nov. 2, 1917, constitutes a great political crime and sin, leading to the uprooting of the Palestinian people and the theft of its land, and causing wars and great conflicts which still continue in the region.’”

Despite the incitement of hatred for the establishment of Israel, the United States this week continues to convince Israel to make concessions to bring Abbas back to direct talks for the creation of the PA as a country, on land that includes areas that were part of the 1947 Partition plan drawn by the United Nations.

EDITOR’S NOTE SUBMITTED BY DAVE HOCKING OF HFT CONNECT:  The battle is between the Bible which mentions the everlasting covenant of God to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the children of Israel – and the Quran which did not exist until the 7th century AD, and does not mention “Jerusalem” even once!  All the attempts of Israel’s enemies to rewrite history and deny the obvious promises of God to Israel in the Bible simply will not work! For My Friends of Color Who Embrace the Democratic Party

I believe the Democrats see “Blacks” as “Useful Tools” to accomplish their agenda. In this video  you will see indisputable facts. The video needs no explanation or dissecting. It simply reports the history of “Black” Americans and how they have been seen, treated and used by the two major parties.

The video raises the question for many, “how can a thoughtful person of color embrace a party that has acted and voted with such consistency to hold them down or back?”

Here is Black History I  never knew (and probably you). Stolen History (Black History) is the reason why thousands of our friends of Color are flocking to the party (Republican) that historically has stood with them.

The “Thanksgiving” Joy Journal

Recognizing true happiness as you write your prayers
by Marc Sandin

U.S. Army Sergeant Ray White stepped off the C130 that had brought him and his unit back to American soil for the first time in 18 months. He kissed the ground, ran to his wife and children, and thanked God for bringing him home from duty in Afghanistan.

Several short months later, through a tumultuous emotional roller coaster, Ray’s family discovered he was suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It was a dark time, full of anxiety and fear for Ray and his family.

Andrew’s working conditions had steadily worsened. Due to exhaustion from overtime and stressful personality conflicts with management, he caused two rear-end fender benders within a span of six weeks.

The next week, Andrew lost his job due to cutbacks; he, his wife and two-year-old daughter were now living on one small income with higher insurance premiums, various bills and debts to pay.

Like Ray and Andrew you, too, have a real-life story of hardship, loss or suffering. Yet you’ll find help – even joy – in getting through these trying times by journaling your tribulations as you also pray about them.

The first chapter of James says that not only should Christ followers expect suffering to come their way, but 1) they should rejoice despite it, and 2) rejoice even because of it. Ephesians 6 proclaims that though believers in Jesus suffer trials, their more meaningful struggle is against unseen forces that define their thoughts, loyalties and desires.

Journaling can give incredible perspective and longevity to the power of your prayer, and an appreciation of what it means to share in the sufferings of Christ. Your Father intends for you to understand His Son’s sacrifice and He implements that understanding by letting you experience difficulty and even pain. This, in turn, produces a heart reinforced by God’s sovereign grace instead of succumbing to anxiety over your poor circumstances: “We suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” (Romans 8:17) Just like the night is darkest just before the dawn, isn’t it also true that you’re most grateful for your health after you have just recovered from sickness?

Being thankful is also not about simply seeing the glass half full, but about appreciating God’s purpose for hurtful trials in your life. God allows suffering (like Job) and even intentionally causes suffering (King Saul, 1 Samuel 18) for His glory and exaltation. For the Christian heart, true suffering has a way of humbling pride and demolishing ego so that God may be more fully displayed through you. Romans 8:18-21 illuminates this powerful concept:

“I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility…in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.”

This passage also highlights the fact that not only does pain increase the pleasure of joy, but that pain should also be a mechanism for a joyful attitude in mature Christ followers, who prize the knowledge of His perfection over the happiness brought by His blessing.

As you celebrate Thanksgiving this year – despite unemployment, medical illness or marital tension – remember that there is a spiritual benefit from God’s sovereignty over the suffering He allows. Also understand that being happy with what God has given you is not the same as being thankful for a relationship with the person of the Holy Spirit: of loving the gift-giver more than the gift simply because He gave it. That’s the true purpose of Thanksgiving: to exult in the truth of the Heavenly Father Himself, His personality and character, rather than just the good circumstances He may supply.

And when the chips are down, journal the hard things that God is allowing in your life in order to shape your character…and to remind you of His loving and sovereign control over your life, and over your nation, no matter what.

A Special Time to Give Thanks

* Psalm 100 (King James Version)
“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.”

For two years now I have subscribed to Jacquie Lawson’s beautiful cards for every occasion. Her Thanksgiving card for this year is truly a gift to all of us. Let each of us be grateful. By clicking Happy Thanksgiving! you will understand how grateful I am for our friendship and love.

BRIGITTE GABRIEL CAPTIVATES CAPITOL HILL:
EDUCATES ABOUT OPEC’S CHOKEHOLD ON OIL AND
TERROR FINANCING

Last week, ACT! for America President, Brigitte Gabriel, and Director of Government Relations, Lisa Piraneo, were up on Capitol Hill for various meetings and events designed to educate our federal legislators about the connection between OPEC’s price fixing of world oil prices and how that threatens our national security.

In addition to a full day’s worth of meetings with Members of Congress from both sides of the political aisle, Brigitte participated in an important roundtable discussion about this issue for Hill staff, as well as a press conference with Congressmen John Shimkus (R-IL), and Eliot Engel (D-NY), sponsors of H.R. 1687, the Open Fuel Standard Act.

NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace and President Ronald Reagan’s National Security Advisor, Robert McFarlane, joined Brigitte and Lisa during their day on the Hill. In each of the meetings, Brigitte’s passionate words about the connection between OPEC’s manipulation of the world’s oil market pricing—and its ties to terror financing—captivated the Members of Congress and their staff.

In particular, Brigitte and coalition members spoke with Members of Congress about support for the Open Fuel Standard (OFS) Act (H.R. 1687 in the House and S. 1603 in the Senate) as a common-sense first step in breaking OPEC’s chokehold on oil prices.
Immediate progress has come out of these meetings. Already, one Member of Congress who was a part of the OFS meetings last week—Rep. Dan Burton (R-IN/5th) has “seen the light” and signed on to the legislation as a cosponsor. He joins the growing group of Congressional cosponsors this vital legislation has already attracted.

Contrary to what some believe, Canada does not supply the largest share of America’s imported oil. OPEC does. Even if we could purchase largely from our own domestic supplies and our northern neighbor, it will not destroy OPEC’s monopoly on the world-wide price of oil, nor will it decrease the terrorism that is funded through OPEC oil funds.

Why? Oil is fungible. Fungibility is the property of a good or a commodity whose individual units are capable of mutual substitution, such as crude oilwheatprecious metals or currencies. For example, if someone lends another person a $10 bill, it does not matter if they are given back the same $10 bill or a different one since currency is fungible. If someone lends another person their car, however, they would not expect to be given back a different car, even of the same make and model, as cars are not fungible.

As long as OPEC controls enough of the worldwide oil market (and they certainly do), when they want the price to rise, they simply cut back slightly on their supply. Only a 2-3% drop in supply will typically create a dramatic rise in price.

Therefore, even if the U.S. and Canadian markets are able to generate a 10 to 15% increase in the overall supply of world oil, OPEC would simply cut back their portion of the supply accordingly for a net zero result in order to maintain the level of current pricing.

The fact is domestic oil suppliers have shown little stomach for increasing supply. Why? They likethe prices OPEC’s strategy generates! This is why Governor Palin had to file suit in Alaska just to get movement on additional drilling and production. U.S. oil companies have a tendency for sitting on inventory, especially if it is likely that future pricing will be higher.

The only factor that will fundamentally reduce the price of oil is the wholesale introduction of other competing transportation fuels. This alone will finally force OPEC to its knees—and deliver a massive blow to worldwide Islamic terrorism.

To be clear, this is not about supporting ethanol, methanol, or any other specific alternative transportation fuel source. The beauty of the OFS Act is that it doesn’t support ONE particular transportation fuel—it only opens up the market to competition and finally allows the AMERICAN CONSUMER to choose from a variety of fuels for their cars and trucks. Additionally, there are no subsidies tied to the OFS legislation and there is absolutely NO COST to the Federal Government/taxpayers. New cars would cost approximately $100 more for the alcohol fuel capability, but the resulting projected fuel cost savings would be approximately $1,000 per year per car!

***ACTION ITEM***

Please do your part today to break OPEC’s chokehold on the price of oil—and their funding of terrorism. Contact your Members of Congress through our Capwiz site and ask that they cosponsor this important legislation. We’ve made it easy to do by pre-writing the correspondence. Click HERE to reach our Capwiz site and click on the two Open Fuel Standard Act alerts (one for Representatives and one for Senators) to send your message to the Hill today.

For more information on the issue of Open Fuel Standards, including Brigitte’s recent day on the Hill to discuss this issue, please see www.openfuelstandard.org

With your support, in as little as seven years we can make our nation and our world safer for our children and our grandchildren by taking the teeth out of OPEC and providing Americans a CHOICE when they fuel their vehicles. Brazil has already reached this point. We can be next. But Congress won’t act unless they hear from you.

After America, There is No Place to Go

Two weeks ago, one of the major networks interviewed 15 Occupy Wall Street People. Among many questions they ask, “who was Hitler?” Thirteen of the 15 didn’t have a clue. Most of these were either college graduates or presently attending college or university. This example is but one of many that might be used to express a concern about our American educational system that graduates students who have no knowledge of a man who changed history and was responsible for millions of deaths and untold tragedy. With this educational incompetence of historical proportions, let me introduce you to a very special lady.

Kitty Werthmann grew up in Austria under the Nazi regime of Adolf Hitler.  She has seen firsthand the devastating effects when people elect and put unchecked power into the hands of a few. Her story has eerie similarities between the rise of the Nazi regime in Germany and America today.

Kitty Werthmann, 83, of Pierre, SD is president of the South Dakota Eagle Forum. She lobbies the state legislature on family issues.  She has lived in the United States since 1950 and has been a U.S. citizen since 1962.

“After America , There is No Place to Go”

What I am about to tell you is something you’ve probably never heard or will ever read in history books. . . . .I believe that I am an eyewitness to history.  I cannot tell you that Hitler took Austria by tanks and guns; it would distort history.  We elected him by a landslide – 98% of the vote.  I’ve never read that in any American publications.  Everyone thinks that Hitler just rolled in with his tanks and took Austria by force.
In 1938, Austria was in deep Depression.  Nearly one-third of our workforce was unemployed.  We had 25% inflation and 25% bank loan interest rates. Farmers and business people were declaring bankruptcy daily.  Young people were going from house to house begging for food.  Not that they didn’t want to work; there simply weren’t any jobs.  My mother was a Christian woman and believed in helping people in need.  Every day we cooked a big kettle of soup and baked bread to feed those poor, hungry people – about 30 daily.
The Communist Party and the National Socialist Party were fighting each other.  Blocks and blocks of cities like Vienna, Linz, and Graz were destroyed.  The people became desperate and petitioned the government to let them decide what kind of government they wanted. We looked to our neighbor on the north, Germany , where Hitler had been in power since 1933.  We had been told that they didn’t have unemployment or crime, and they had a high standard of living.  Nothing was ever said about persecution of any group — Jewish or otherwise.  We were led to believe that everyone was happy.  We wanted the same way of life in Austria .  We were promised that a vote for Hitler would mean the end of unemployment and help for the family.  Hitler also said that businesses would be assisted, and farmers would get their farms back. 98% percent of the population voted to annex Austria to Germany and have Hitler for our ruler!
We were overjoyed, and for three days we danced in the streets and had candlelight parades.  The new government opened up big field kitchens and everyone was fed. After the election, German officials were appointed, and like a miracle, we suddenly had law and order.  Three or four weeks later, everyone was employed.  The government made sure that a lot of work was created through the Public Work Service.
Hitler decided we should have equal rights for women.  Before this, it was a custom that married Austrian women did not work outside the home.  An able-bodied husband would be looked down on if he couldn’t support his family.  Many women in the teaching profession were elated that they could retain the jobs they previously had been required to give up for marriage.

Hitler Targets Education – Eliminates Religious Instruction for Children:

Our education was nationalized.  I attended a very good public school.  The population was predominantly Catholic, so we had religion in our schools. The day we elected Hitler (March 13, 1938), I walked into my schoolroom to find the crucifix replaced by Hitler’s picture hanging next to a Nazi flag. Our teacher, a very devout woman, stood up and told the class we wouldn’t pray or have religion anymore.  Instead, we sang “Deutschland, Deutschland, Uber Alles,” and had physical education.
Sunday became National Youth Day with compulsory attendance.  Parents were not pleased about the sudden change in curriculum.  They were told that if they did not send us, they would receive a stiff letter of warning the first time.  The second time they would be fined the equivalent of $300, and the third time they would be subject to jail.  The first two hours consisted of political indoctrination.  The rest of the day we had sports.  As time went along, we loved it.  Oh, we had so much fun and got our sports equipment free.  We would go home and gleefully tell our parents about the wonderful time we had.
My mother was very unhappy.  When the next term started, she took me out of public school and put me in a convent.  I told her she couldn’t do that and she told me that someday when I grew up, I would be grateful.  There was a very good curriculum, but hardly any fun – no sports, and no political indoctrination.  I hated it at first but felt I could tolerate it.  Every once in a while, on holidays, I went home.  I would go back to my old friends and ask what was going on and what they were doing.  Their loose lifestyle was very alarming to me.  They lived without religion.  By that time unwed mothers were glorified for having a baby for Hitler.  It seemed strange to me that our society changed so suddenly.  As time went along, I realized what a great deed my mother did so that I wasn’t exposed to that kind of humanistic philosophy.

Equal Rights Hits Home:

In 1939, the war started and a food bank was established.  All food was rationed and could only be purchased using food stamps.  At the same time, a full-employment law was passed which meant if you didn’t work, you didn’t get a ration card, and if you didn’t have a card, you starved to death. Women who stayed home to raise their families didn’t have any marketable skills and often had to take jobs more suited for men.
Soon after this, the draft was implemented.  It was compulsory for young people, male and female, to give one year to the labor corps.  During the day, the girls worked on the farms, and at night they returned to their barracks for military training just like the boys.  They were trained to be anti-aircraft gunners and participated in the signal corps.  After the labor corps, they were not discharged but were used in the front lines.  When I go back to Austria to visit my family and friends, most of these women are emotional cripples because they just were not equipped to handle the horrors of combat.  Three months before I turned 18, I was severely injured in an air raid attack.  I nearly had a leg amputated, so I was spared having to go into the labor corps and into military service.
Hitler Restructured the Family Through Daycare:  When the mothers had to go out into the work force, the government immediately established child care centers.  You could take your children ages 4 weeks to school age and leave them there around-the-clock, 7 days a week, under the total care of the government.  The state raised a whole generation of children. There were no motherly women to take care of the children, just people highly trained in child psychology.  By this time, no one talked about equal rights.  We knew we had been had.

Health Care and Small Business Suffer Under Government Controls:

Before Hitler, we had very good medical care.  Many American doctors trained at the University of Vienna .  After Hitler, health care was socialized, free for everyone.  Doctors were salaried by the government.  The problem was, since it was free, the people were going to the doctors for everything. When the good doctor arrived at his office at 8 a.m., 40 people were already waiting and, at the same time, the hospitals were full.  If you needed elective surgery, you had to wait a year or two for your turn.  There was no money for research as it was poured into socialized medicine.  Research at the medical schools literally stopped, so the best doctors left Austria and emigrated to other countries.
As for healthcare, our tax rates went up to 80% of our income.
Newlyweds immediately received a $1,000 loan from the government to establish a household.  We had big programs for families.  All day care and education were free.  High schools were taken over by the government and college tuition was subsidized.  Everyone was entitled to free handouts, such as food stamps, clothing, and housing.

We had another agency designed to monitor business.  My brother-in-law owned a restaurant that had square tables.  Government officials told him he had to replace them with round tables because people might bump themselves on the corners.  Then they said he had to have additional bathroom facilities. It was just a small dairy business with a snack bar.  He couldn’t meet all the demands.  Soon, he went out of business.  If the government owned the large businesses and not many small ones existed, it could be in control.
We had “consumer protection”.  We were told how to shop and what to buy.  Free enterprise was essentially abolished.  We had a planning agency specially designed for farmers.  The agents would go to the farms, count the live-stock, then tell the farmers what to produce, and how to produce it.

“Mercy Killing” Redefined:

In 1944, I was a student teacher in a small village in the Alps . The villagers were surrounded by mountain passes which, in the winter, were closed off with snow, causing people to be isolated.  So people intermarried and offspring were sometimes retarded.  When I arrived, I was told there were 15 mentally retarded adults, but they were all useful and did good manual work.  I knew one, named Vincent, very well.  He was a janitor of the school.  One day I looked out the window and saw Vincent and others getting into a van.  I asked my superior where they were going.  She said to an institution where the State Health Department would teach them a trade, and to read and write.  The families were required to sign papers with a little clause that they could not visit for 6 months.  They were told visits would interfere with the program and might cause homesickness. As time passed, letters started to dribble back saying these people died a natural, merciful death.  The villagers were not fooled.  We suspected what was happening.  Those people left in excellent physical health and all died within 6 months. We called this euthanasia.
The Final Steps – Gun Laws:  Next came gun registration…  People were getting injured by guns.  Hitler said that the real way to catch criminals (we still had a few) was by matching serial numbers on guns.  Most citizens were law abiding and dutifully marched to the police station to register their firearms.  Not long after-wards, the police said that it was best for everyone to turn in their guns. The authorities already knew who had them, so it was futile not to comply voluntarily.
No more freedom of speech.  Anyone who said something against the government was taken away.  We knew many people who were arrested, not only Jews, but also priests and ministers who spoke up.
Totalitarianism didn’t come quickly, it took 5 years from 1938 until 1943, to realize full dictatorship in Austria …  Had it happened overnight, my countrymen would have fought to the last breath.  Instead, we had creeping gradualism.  Now, our only weapons were broom handles.  The whole idea sounds almost unbelievable that the state, little by little eroded our freedom.
After World War II, Russian troops occupied Austria.  Women were raped, preteen to elderly.  The press never wrote about this either.  When the Soviets left in 1955, they took everything that they could, dismantling whole factories in the process.  They sawed down whole orchards of fruit, and what they couldn’t destroy, they burned.  We called it the Burned Earth. Most of the population barricaded themselves in their houses.  Women hid in their cellars for 6 weeks as the troops mobilized.  Those who couldn’t, paid the price.  There is a monument in Vienna today, dedicated to those women who were massacred by the Russians.

This is an eyewitness account. More could be said. But it’s true…those of us who sailed past the Statue of Liberty came to a country of unbelievable freedom and opportunity.
America truly is the greatest nation in the world. Please don’t let freedom slip away! “After America, there is no place to go”

Wishing the Old Paths Were Before Us Instead of Behind Us

Generally I’m a person who looks at the future with great anticipation, however there are times when I look about and then have a nostalgic moment and find myself agreeing with an old retired minister from Tennessee. Would you agree?

THE OLD PATHS

I Liked the old paths, when
Moms were at home.

Dads were at work.
Brothers went into the army.
And sisters got married BEFORE having children!

Crime did not pay;
Hard work did;
And people knew the difference.

Moms could cook;
Dads would work;
Children would behave.

Husbands were loving;
Wives were supportive;
And children were polite.

Women wore the jewelry;
And Men wore the pants. (so they thought)
God was always first in the house.

Women looked like ladies;
Men looked like gentlemen;
And children looked decent;
And knew what happened when you broke the rules.

People loved the truth,
And hated a lie,
Deals were made with a handshake.

They came to church to get IN,
Not to get OUT!

Hymns sounded Godly;
Sermons sounded helpful;
Rejoicing sounded normal,
And crying sounded sincere.

Cursing was wicked;
Drugs were for illness.

The flag was honored;
America was beautiful;
And God was welcome!

We read the Bible in public;
Prayed in school daily;
And preached from house to house.

To be called an American was worth dying for;
To be called an American was worth living for;
To be called a traitor was a shame!

There may be a few things we would change, but
I still like the old paths the best!
